On the heels of Netflix’s Maternal Instinct, we’re taking a look at the disturbing case of Taylor Parker.
A fake pregnancy. An elaborate web of lies. And a horrifying plan to make it all real.
In this episode of The Femme Fatal, we dive into the murder of Reagan Hancock, the deception leading up to the crime, the trial that put Parker on death row, and the latest chapter in her appeals.
Then in Horoscopes & Homicides, we put both Taylor and the day of the crime under an astrological lens, where themes of illusion, obsession, relationships and a reckoning with reality make for one fascinating chart.

Welcome to the Femme Fatal, a true crime podcast with an astrology twist. I'm your host, Stacey Dotson. Each week I'll be joined by a guest host because this femme fatal prefers not to work alone. Hey everybody, welcome back to the Femme Fatal. I have a familiar voice back with me today. Amy has joined me before for the Darley Rudier and Carla Homockal episodes, and I might add two of my top performing episodes. And of course, probably because she has her own true crime podcast called Dead Serious, which you guys should absolutely check out. I listened to her episode on Taylor Parker and thought it was fantastic and immediately reached out and said, you have to come back and talk about this case with me.
SPEAKER_01Hey Stacy. Thank you so much for having me again. Hey, Amy, welcome back.
SPEAKER_00Thank you. This is also timely because of, you know, Netflix's maternal instinct that just came out. So Yes.
SPEAKER_01I did not know about this one until that, actually.
SPEAKER_00So you know, when I first started doing this, I made like a spreadsheet and just started throwing names of people just, you know, to have it. And I went and there's, I want to say there's six women on Death Row in Texas. I want to say it's six. It may be eight.
SPEAKER_01Yes. I think six or seven.
SPEAKER_00And so I just put all their names on there without looking at it. And so her name is on my list, but I had no clue. And Netflix enlightened me to something that I watched it and I'm glad I watched it without knowing because I got the full impact of what they were trying to do. But taken aback, like unbelievable. So thank you so much for coming and telling the story because I know you're gonna do it justice. Thank you for having me. Okay, let's get into it.
SPEAKER_01So, Reagan Simmons Hancock, the victim, her mother, she did an interview. She describes the day of. So I was gonna go through her perspective. So it's Friday, October 9th, 2020, in New Boston, Texas. It's warm outside, a high of 84 for the day. 47-year-old Jessica Brooks started her day like any other. She got dressed and ready for work, arriving around 8:30. While driving there, she thought about dropping by her daughter's home, 21-year-old Regan Simmons Hancock. Regan had three-year-old Kinley and was 35 weeks pregnant with her second daughter, who she was naming Braxlyn Sage. Beautiful names. Yes, yes. Jessica thought, you know, uh, you know, everyone's probably gonna be getting ready for the day and they're gonna be busy, so I don't want to bother them. So she goes into work, arrives around 10. She gets a call from Reagan's husband, Homer. He was asking if she had spoken to Regan that morning. He explained that she did not show up to work and was not responding to any of his texts. He also mentioned that his neighbor called and told him he had to put one of their dogs back in their yard as it had gone out. Come to think of it, Homer wasn't even sure if Kinley had made it to daycare that day. Jessica leaves work immediately and heads to the daycare first as it's on the way. She is told Kinley did not show up today. So Jessica is very concerned at this point. She wants to go to the police department, but she calls her husband, Marcus. They talk and decide she'll go to Reagan's home first. You know, they're thinking, I'm sure there's some logical reason here why we can't get a hold of her. As Jessica approached the home, she noticed the garage door was open, which was unusual. Reagan's car was also in the driveway. So she walks up, she goes through the garage and notices reddish streaks, which she automatically believes are blood. But you know, she's thinking, she thought it had to do with the dog. She thought maybe the dog got cut. She pauses, she gets to the door and she sees a bloody fingerprint. Now she's thinking maybe she shouldn't go in or touch anything. She doesn't know what she's seeing. She calls for her daughter, she turns the door, she uses her shirt actually. It's right, she is her shirt to turn the doorknob. So, I mean, good thinking on her part of like maybe there's something happening here. I don't want to mess up this scene. So opens the door and she calls for her daughter. She says, Regan, hey, babe, Regan, answer me. It's completely silent. She looks down to find a bloody footprint. Now, this puts her in full fear, panic mode. She goes back into the garage and closes the door. But she thinks, what if Regan needs me? You know, what if she's in there and she needs me? I have to go find her. She goes back inside, takes a few steps, and there Reagan is lying on the ground, facing away from her. Her hair was stained red. Jessica is not sure what to do. She goes back out the door and described it as a blur from there. She called 911. Neighbors came outside because they heard her screaming. Her husband, Marcus, shows up with one of his friends and she pleads with Marcus, like, hey, don't go in there. Please don't go in there. And she begs his friend Chris, don't allow him to go inside. But Marcus goes in anyway. And when he comes out, Jessica described his face as haunting as when she saw Reagan laying on the floor. I can't even imagine. I yeah, finding your child dead. I mean, it's so awful that she has the one that had to find her. Marcus asks Jessica, you know, where is Kinley? Have you found Kinley? And they all start yelling for her and they hear the little girl crying. The friend Chris decides to go in and get Kinley. She was hiding under a blanket. So he scooped her up, making sure she would stay covered so she could not see her mother as he brought her out. So smart. Kinley kept asking, though, like, where is my mommy? Homer shows up a little bit after and is quickly made aware that there is nothing he can do for Regan. But his daughter, he wanted to be there, you know, to hold her and let her know that she was okay. Around 11:30, the family is now they're back at their house. Marcus receives a phone call from his brother and texts her canna. Jessica is sitting there and she hears, overhears the conversation, and Marcus is saying, What's on Facebook? Oh, okay, yeah, we'll keep her off of it. Jessica yells, no, grabs her phone, goes right on Facebook, opens it up, and there's an article. New Boston mother murdered, baby cut from womb. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. They had no idea that Reagan's baby Braxlin had been cut out, abducted. She asked investigators if this was true, which they acknowledged. The baby's not with the mother. I mean, I know the details, and just listening to you, I'm still like, it's horrible. Extremely just horrifying. I mean, hours passed and they had no idea, you know, why or who would do this. Information, you know, started to kind of flood through about a suspect. And initially, the name, Taylor Parker, was not familiar to Jessica, but other family members did recognize the name. She was the woman who photographed Homer and Reagan's wedding the year before. That's how they met. Taylor had actually been in Reagan's home the previous evening. The reality that Taylor Parker had befriended Reagan just to steal her baby was horrifying. However, horrifying, it was the truth. Taylor faked a pregnancy and then planned a murder in order to steal Reagan's baby, their granddaughter. Taylor bludgeoned Reagan to death and cut baby Braxlin from the room and stole her. Taylor Parker was arrested that same day on October 9th. I wanted to go into Reagan's background a bit, you know, speak about her life. Her mother, Jessica Brooks, did an interview with Texarcana magazine and spoke about who she was. Reagan was born on November 14, 1998, in New Hope, Arkansas. She was the second eldest of four siblings in a blended family. Her mother described her as a very sweet child who had no interest in toys, but she loved She's in Fashion, a girl after my own heart. One of Jessica's favorite memories is when Reagan was about two or three, Regan had wandered off in a Dillard's while the family was at the mall. As they frantically searched, a store clerk directed them to the shoe department. There she was, Jessica recalls, shaking her head with affection, just standing there in the shoe like she owned the place. Reagan was tiny but sure of herself, drawn to anything with buckles, straps, sparkles, or heels. She knew what she liked and she didn't waver. Being second oldest, she was bossy and liked to take charge. In middle school, she'd leave notes for her mom about the mischief that her siblings would get into during the day, one hitting the other or one slamming doors. Jennifer says Reagan had the biggest heart, but could be a spitfire as well. Reagan was a member of the JC Cowboy Church in Louisville, Arkansas, and worked at Flying Burger and Seafood in Texarkana, Arkansas. She said Reagan truly cared about people. You know, she raised her children to be kind to everyone, no matter their circumstances. She went on to say that sometimes, now, I think that might have been a mistake. I was about to say too opening, too inviting. Yes, just really friendly and no strangers, I guess, didn't know a stranger.
SPEAKER_00Who thinks someone is capable of this? Like, it's unimaginable.
SPEAKER_01Nobody. Although this type of storyline, a woman cutting a baby out of a has actually happened multiple times, though, which is really? Oh, yeah. This is not the first time, and it's crazy to me that this has happened multiple other times.
SPEAKER_00I mean, my mouth is wide open right now. I can't believe this has happened before.
SPEAKER_01There are more. There are more. Reagan found herself pregnant at 17, and she was freaking out, naturally, but her family really supported her, you know, no shame, and felt the baby was a blessing. And in 2017, Kinley was born, the first grandchild and great-grandchild. Jessica said that Reagan was meant to be a mom. She balanced work, home, and motherhood with a responsibility beyond her years. Reagan eventually met and married Homer Hancock. And this is also around when Reagan met Taylor. She was looking for a photographer for their wedding. She hired Taylor and they went on to develop a friendship. When Reagan found out she was pregnant, she put together a video where she asked Kinley, What is in mommy's belly? Is it a brother or a sister? Kinley yells, a sister. And you know, Reagan was really happy and excited to have a little family of four. So that's a bit about Reagan. Now we'll go into Taylor Parker's background, which is not good, not happy. Just a pathological liar. Lies, lies, lies. At 17, Taylor also found herself pregnant. She was in a relationship with Donald Whiteside and gave birth to a daughter, Emerson. Not a lot is known about that relationship. She then met her first ex-husband, Tommy Wakey, and she had a son Trey at 21. Apparently, that birth was very traumatic. So she received a tubal ligation. And then two years later, Taylor had an ectopic pregnancy, which required surgery. The doctor found scarring from endometriosis and an ovarian cyst. From testimony, it appears Taylor's mother, Shauna Pryor, is the one who okayed a hysterectomy for her to have, but Taylor held it against Tommy. Perhaps, you know, he didn't step up and say no or whatever. So he got the brunt of that. The two separated in 2017 and were officially divorced in 2018. Taylor was ordered to pay child support to Tommy and allegedly has never paid him and still owes him over $8,000.
SPEAKER_00She had to pay child support to him. Yeah. That's a weird one. Not very common in Texas, for sure.
SPEAKER_01So now we get to the second ex-husband, Hunter Parker. They married 11 days after divorce was finalized with Tommy. In about a year in 2019, they also divorced. Hunter testified at Taylor's trial and said that Taylor did not share that she was infertile till after they were married. He stated she would also say she had multiple medical problems and that she'd fake having seizures to get him to stay with her. He also claimed that she convinced him to take out a loan so they could get a surrogate in order to have a child together. Taylor told Hunter her grandmother would pay for this in cash. And she told Hunter that Tim Hightower would be the person who would deliver the money. Then, when it's time for the money, she says, Oh, he was in a car accident, died, and the first responder stole the money.
SPEAKER_00Sure, Taylor. Sure. It just seems easy for her.
SPEAKER_01Yes. And I feel like lies a lot of times have a little truth sprinkled in. A lot of times that's how people can get away with them, is because, well, it's kind of the truth, right? Like I could sell this. Taylor then meets Wade Griffin in July of 2019 at a rodeo, and that relationship moves quick. Seems like all of her relationships moved quickly. And just a few months later in the fall, she moved in. Now, as this relationship is progressing, Taylor starts to make these claims that she would inherit millions from her grandmother, that her mother was in the way trying to keep her from getting it. In December, Taylor and Wade made some serious purchases, which included a $100,000 truck for him and a new car for Griffin's mother. Taylor also told Wade and his family that she was going to buy Pecan Point, a $4 million ranch in Oklahoma. But as we know, Griffin's mother's car ended up getting repossessed when Taylor couldn't prove that she had the funds for the ranch. Taylor clearly had falsely portrayed her family as wealthy. She did not come for money, no inheritance. She also used over 30 fake names to illegally purchase more than 20 million in real estate and other assets during her 14-month relationship with Griffin. Everything she does, I'm just like, who does this?
SPEAKER_00Who does this? How do you do this? I'm in real estate. It's not that easy to fake all that, right? It's not that easy.
SPEAKER_01I would think this would be a little difficult. I don't know how she pulled this off. I mean, some people just, I don't know. Now comes the begin. In early January 2020, Taylor announces she's pregnant with a due date of that coming September. It's that this time she asks her ex Tommy to take custody of their daughter, Emerson. She didn't want Emerson to get in the way of her relationship with Wade. Problem is, as we all know, and many others know, Taylor cannot get pregnant.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01We know the background. Her family knows the background. This is a small town. This is not a big place. And she posted this all over social media. And Taylor's mother caught wind when a friend of hers reached out and said, Hey, you know, congratulations on being a grandmother again. During trial, Taylor's mother, Shauna Pryor, was questioned about this very thing. She was asked, Is there a reason you didn't say anything to her? Pryor responded that I didn't think there was a reason I should say you're not pregnant to her.
SPEAKER_00What a weird family dynamic and yeah, response. It was weird.
SPEAKER_01You know, it was made clear. Taylor has lied about medical conditions for a long time. Mom acknowledges this, but at the same time, kind of sticks up for Taylor a little bit. Oh, I don't understand how some of these conditions could be faked, but she knows. This fake pregnancy, oh my God. And she didn't just announce this, you know, hey, I'm pregnant and now, okay, I'm gonna have to make up shit as I go along. You know, it was, oh, I have a whole scheme plan, which included using towels and ordering fake bellies to look pregnant, one of which literally mimicked kicking sensations. I didn't know you can even get something like that. I didn't know they made that. Me either. You know, I'm naive, apparently. And she also had maternity pictures taken and got the sonogram image that she googled and showed everybody. Hey, you know, this is our baby. And then this bitch has a gender reveal party. I mean, what the hell? I mean, you are dragging people so deep into this lie. It's just sick. So sick. So, Wade, how was he not questioning any of this, right?
[Ad] INFORMEDISH: Real life. Artificial cohost.
SPEAKER_00What did she say to avoid intimacy during this whole time? Is what watching that documentary, I thought, oh my God, like,
(Cont.) Phantom Mother: Taylor Parker
SPEAKER_00how did he not realize our, you know, weren't they physical? I don't know.
SPEAKER_01So part of it was so that was during COVID. So as far as going to appointments, he believed, like, oh yeah, I can't go. Because at the time, like nobody's allowed to do anything, right? So that made sense to him. She explained that she felt very insecure and uncomfortable in her naked body while she was pregnant. Okay, there it goes. Yes. So, oh, you know, physically I'm just not feeling knee. So I don't want you to look at me. And he's like, All right. Now, he had suspicions, but she's crossing the T's, she's dotting the I's, she's handling the finances, cleaning the house, tending to the farm, and putting whatever he wants on the table for dinner every night. So he's like, we're good. Plus, she brought sonograms, right? Yes, she went on Google and you know, Googled images of it, which is like so crazy to me. It's insane. But I mean, again, who's gonna think, oh, my girlfriend is uh faking this pre-here's a fake sonogram picture. Like, who's gonna go that far? You know, think that far, right? Like, it's crazy. So now, you know, we're starting to press into October and suspicions are growing because the due date came and went, right? That was supposed to be like late September. Now, according to testimony, Wade's mother, Connie Griffin, actually asked Shauna Pryor, who is Taylor's mother, about the pregnancy, whether Taylor could or could not have children, because again, this is a small town, things are going around, you know, people are saying things, and she's like, what's going on? And Shauna said point blank, like, she cannot have children. Taylor's family obviously knew she couldn't have any more children. Now, Taylor's brother Zachary and her aunt, Molly Glass, also testified during this trial, and they kind of came to this conclusion that so Taylor had gastric bypass surgery back in 2014. That's what kind of changed her. She went from being focused on Tommy and the family to being focused on herself. There was this confidence that previously was not there. Zachary tried to confront Taylor on her lies after he found out that she brought him into one, claiming that she had told Wade that Zachary would be bringing a welding trailer to their property to build some expensive fence that Taylor wanted. Zachary questioned Taylor about it, and she said, like, she didn't know how she was gonna get the money. He's like, Well, call mom because I don't have anything to do with this. Now, when Taylor calls their mom, Zachary had already called their mother and said, Hey, she's calling you, like, put me on mute. I want to hear what she says. Taylor tells a whole nother lie about the whole thing. So just more and more lies. And he's done. He's like, Listen, you can lie all you want, but keep me out of it. Yeah, she's pathological. Everything that she says is a lie. And he told her, hey, if you don't come clean with Wade tonight, I'm calling him and I'm exposing all of your lies. I wish he would have. Yes. I know. Well, their mom, Shauna, asked Zachary, Hey, you know, can you give her the night? Before reaching out to Wade. So he does. But the following morning, Zachary wakes up to a lengthy text from Wade telling him off. And how dare he and his family do this to Taylor? Zachary thought this was not a message he felt would come from a good old country boy who was sending this. Who's sending that text? Yeah. He tried to respond, but he was blocked. So he checked his Facebook, but Taylor had him blocked. And he hops on his wife's Facebook and she's blocked. And then Zachary wasn't the only one that was trying to confront Taylor. The aunt, Molly Gallas, questioned her about the PCAM point because Molly knew her and her husband knew who was currently leasing the property. But Taylor told her, oh, you know, my doctor owns the property and it's going to be freeing up for sale soon. Molly also recalled that, you know, it was awkward when Taylor first introduced Wade to the mom. Come to find out, the reason for that is Taylor had told Wade that her mother committed suicide in jail after a police shootout, where the police were trying to capture her mother for putting a hit out on Taylor. This just gets more and more unbelievable. Yes, it just goes down the hole. So now Taylor is introducing Wade. It's like, oh, here's my mom. All fine and well. So Molly's like, all right, I'm also gonna go on Facebook. I'm gonna call her out. She's blocked too. So she's just blocking everybody at this point.
SPEAKER_00She's all in. This is gonna happen.
SPEAKER_01Yes, she has to go through with this. There's no turning back at this point. So now we're back up to the day of the crime, and this is kind of where, you know, the maternal instinct, the documentary picks up. You know, after Taylor bludgeons Reagan to death, she cuts out baby Braxlin and takes off with her in the car. The baby did not live.
SPEAKER_00Watching that documentary again, I mentioned earlier, because I hadn't researched her, I went into this blind. And they don't say that the baby didn't live until the very end. And the whole time I'm like, please, dear God, let that baby have lived. Like the whole time, you know, and then it just hurts so bad for sure.
SPEAKER_01So she takes off with the baby in her car, and she gets pulled over, she's speeding, reckless driving and spreading, and she lies and is like, oh hey, I just gave birth. And you know, you see the body cam and it's kind of blurred out, but she's obviously like holding the baby on her lap and there's blood everywhere. So you know, like obviously they're believing her. So she's brought to the hospital, but her physical condition is not really matching someone who just went through labor. The staff are starting to feel a little suspicious. They ask her some questions and her answers were vague. So ultimately, they call on a doctor to give her a physical exam. Because you know, you just had a baby, you probably need some medical attention, and this chick is acting weird. So, like, what's up? This was like one of my favorite parts weird to say about the documentary is when the doctor comes out and he's like, Yeah, she didn't have a baby. The end, teller is arrested.
SPEAKER_00Obviously, the whole thing is just terrible. So I appreciate you so much sharing the story and doing a great job telling the story because it's a tough one. But I did look into the court case. So before obviously I get into the astrology part, I want to spend a little bit on the Taylor Parker trial because there was actually a pretty interesting legal question at the center of it. Taylor went on trial in Bowie County, Texas in September of 2022, and this was a massive trial. More than 140 witnesses testified over 26 days. Like you were listing some of the people that testified. It was over 140. But what's interesting is the defense wasn't actually arguing that Taylor was guilty and didn't kill Reagan. The fight was over, and what the defense focused on was did she legally qualify as being charged with capital murder? So the state charged Taylor with murdering Reagan while committing or attempting to commit the kidnapping of Braxlin. And that distinction mattered enormously because under Texas law, kidnapping was the aggravating offense that elevated Reagan's murder to capital murder and made Taylor eligible for the death penalty. Taylor's attorneys focused on the wording of Texas kidnapping statute. Their argument was essentially this: in order to kidnap someone, that person has to have been born and alive. The defense argued that Braxlin was never born alive. So their position was that Taylor could certainly be convicted of Reagan's murder, but if there was no living baby to kidnap, there was no kidnapping. And therefore, it wasn't a capital murder. And the prosecution obviously strongly disagreed. Medical witnesses testified that Braxlyn, and this is heartbreaking, that Braxlyn showed signs of life, including testimony that she had a heartbeat when she arrived at the hospital. After the weeks of testimony, the jury did not need much time. They deliberated for less than an hour before finding Taylor guilty of capital murder. And then came the punishment phase. The prosecution asked for death. Taylor's attorneys asked the jury to spare her life and sentence her to life without parole, presenting evidence concerning her mental health and abnormalities in her brain. On November 9th, 2022, after about an hour and a half of deliberations, the jury sentenced Taylor Parker to death. And that wasn't the end of the legal fight because this is a death penalty case. Taylor's conviction and sentence received an automatic direct appeal to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. And her attorneys raised 25 different points of error, including continuing to challenge whether the evidence actually supported the kidnapping element of the capital murder conviction. But in November 2025, Texas's highest criminal court rejected those arguments and affirmed both her conviction and her death sentence. So Taylor's attorneys took the case to the United States Supreme Court. They filed a petition asking the justices to review her case in March of 2026. Texas opposed it, but Taylor's attorney filed a reply, and the case was distributed to the justices for their May conference. And on May 18, 2026, the Supreme Court denied the petition. They didn't issue an opinion explaining why. They simply declined to hear the case. So as of right now, Taylor Parker's capital murder conviction and death sentence remain in place. As it should. Sorry.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00As it should, for sure. I thought that was pretty timely as well, considering she was just denied in May of 2026 by the Supreme Court.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. There's multiple things there. She was at the 35 weeks, so a baby can definitely survive at 35 weeks if you know something happens and they they have to take the baby out. But even regardless, her whole uh intention was to kidnap this baby. Whether the baby was whatever weeks, like it doesn't matter. I feel like even if she was less than that, it's like this is a little person. So your intent was to kidnap this baby.
SPEAKER_00And what kind of psychopath like has the ability to do what she did? I know it's so disturbing. You know, I like to end these podcasts with a little look at the astrology. So doing this today, I actually want to do both the person and the crime and put those both under the astrological lens because the astrology that's happening on the day of the murder gives us a little bit to talk about. So Taylor Parker was born on December 8th, 1992, making her a Sagittarius son. So Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, and at its best, Sagittarius is optimistic, adventurous, enthusiastic, and always looking toward what comes next. There's a big picture quality to Sagittarius. But Sagittarius can have a tendency towards exaggeration. Things become bigger and grander and more elaborate. And knowing Taylor's story, that certainly caught my attention. But her Sagittarius son isn't actually the most interesting part of this chart. That would be her Mercury and Scorpio conjunct to Pluto and Scorpio. Mercury represents the mind, communication, and how we process and deliver information. Scorpio is private, strategic, and comfortable operating beneath the surface. Then you put Pluto right next to Mercury, which is where the conjunct comes from, and it intensifies all of that. So Mercury, conjunct to Pluto, can create an incredibly focused mind. These can be people who know how to dig for information, keep information private, and understand the power that information can have. And in Taylor's case, deception wasn't one isolated lie, like we discussed. She created entire stories around her health, her finances, her pregnancies, and eventually the life she was supposed to be building with Wade. In addition, her Mercury also forms a trine with Mars and Cancer. Mercury is thought and communication, Mars is action. And a trine means these energies tend to work together fairly easily. So there can be a natural connection between thinking about something and actually doing something about it. As we know from the evidence in this case and what happened to Reagan wasn't presented as a sudden impulsive decision. Taylor had been researching pregnancy, childbirth, C-sections, prosthetic bellies, and ways to maintain this pregnancy story. So we've got this very intense Mercury-Pluto mind with a fairly easy connection to Mars, the planet of action. And then we get the Venus opposite Mars. Taylor had a Venus at the very end of Capricorn and Mars and Cancer. And Venus represents relationships, attraction, values, and what we want. And Mars represents how we go after what we want. And when they're opposite of one another, there can be tension between these two things: what I want versus what I have to do to get it. And hers falls across the cancer Capricorn axis. Cancer is associated with home, family, nurturing, and motherhood. And Capricorn is associated with structure, security, achievement, and maintaining control. And considering how much of Taylor's fabricated world centered around creating a family, maintaining her relationship, and constructing the future she had promised, that cancer Capricorn opposition really stands out. Knowing what Taylor ultimately did in an attempt to produce a baby and maintain the life she had constructed, that's an interesting placement to find here. But remember, I said we're putting both Taylor in the crime under the astrological lens. So what was happening in the sky on October 9th, 2020? Taylor's natal Mars is around 27 degrees in Cancer. And on the day of the murder, Saturn was around 25 degrees in Capricorn, directly opposing her Mars. Saturn represents boundaries, restrictions, consequences, and reality. And Mars wants to act. Saturn says, you've hit the wall. And that's basically where Taylor's situation was. She had spent months maintaining a pregnancy that didn't exist. But pregnancies have an expiration date, as you said. The date had come and passed. Eventually, there has to be a baby, right? So the story she had created had reached the point where reality was no longer going to cooperate with it. And astrologically, she has Saturn sitting almost directly opposite her Mars, but Saturn wasn't the only thing happening in Capricorn. Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn were all moving through Capricorn at the time, activating an area of Taylor's natal chart where she already had Uranus and Neptune. And Neptune is the one I really want to talk about. Neptune is associated with dreams, fantasy, illusion, and blurred boundaries between what is real and what we want to believe is real. On October 9th, Jupiter was very close to Taylor's natal Neptune. Jupiter expands whatever it touches, Neptune blurs reality, and Taylor's entire situation had become one enormous constructed reality that she could no longer maintain. So while Saturn is over there saying reality has arrived, Jupiter is simultaneously amplifying Neptune. The illusion had gotten bigger and bigger until there was nowhere left for it to go. And October 9th, 2020 certainly became that dividing line for Taylor. There was everything that happened before that day, and everything that came after it. So when I put Taylor Parker in the crime under the astrological lens, there are a few themes that really stand out. Mercury and Pluto, information, secrecy, and an intensely focused mind, Venus and Mars, relationships, desire, and action, Capricorn and Cancer, family, motherhood, security and control. And then on October 9th, Saturn opposing Mars, where Jupiter activated Neptune, reality confronting action at the exact moment an illusion had become impossible to sustain. Keeping up the lies.
SPEAKER_01I don't even know how she like remembered all the lies that she had going on daily. Like, how are you not having so much anxiety about like every day? Like, oh my God, I gotta tell this one, this person, this, and I gotta remember to do, you know, like I don't know how anyone could do that.
SPEAKER_00Like, I don't either. I'd have to write everything down. I'd be like, okay, wait, what did I say?
SPEAKER_01Right? Like, lie number one is crazy. I personally like the astrological charts because I always find them interesting. And I feel like, am I like some huge believer in all of it? No, but a lot of things jive, right? I'm also not like completely, I don't believe in any of it either.
SPEAKER_00You know, I always say this like it doesn't predict anything. I mean, I like it. I have fun with it and it's fun. But in this case, like I said, it's tough because I just find this one of the most horrific things. I can't imagine her mother finding her like that. Like it just breaks my heart. And they probably were worried about Kinley too. And what did she see?
SPEAKER_01What did she see? What did she hear? What did she know? You know, she was very young, but still like something that traumatic, your body keeps that with you.
SPEAKER_00Thanks for telling this. This is a tough one. And I have expressed before that I'm really not pro-death penalty. But God, I can only imagine how bad her family wants that conviction. And part of me can sort of understand if that was my family, that I would feel that same way. I get that.
SPEAKER_01I'm kind of like, I just depends on the circumstances. I'm not like either like fully way, you know. It's like, I don't know. Let's hear what happened. And if it was my love, how would I feel? You know, it's kind of easy to say, like, oh, I'm against that, but I think, you know, if you're not in that position, maybe you don't fully know how you feel about it. I don't know. Maybe, maybe not.
SPEAKER_00That's exactly where I am. It's like you never know until you're faced with what that actually means. Oh, sure. Absolutely. Wow, that was heavy. It was. I mean, that whole documentary was heavy. It was hard to watch.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And like reading about her was like, oh, you know, like really making her a person, you know, who was she, where did she come from and you know her personality and stuff.
SPEAKER_00You just don't know. How did someone get that way? We don't know what her young childhood was like.
SPEAKER_01No, I don't know. I mean, uh hearing her mother's answers and the testimony though, it just felt, you know, this feels disconnected. It feels like I don't know what happened, but she probably didn't have a good one, is kind of what I'm guessing.
SPEAKER_00Not that it excuses anything, though. Well, again, thank you so much for doing this. Everybody needs to listen to Dead Serious. It's great. Absolutely. Thanks for having me. I'm also gonna just say that I'm gonna take a little bit of a sabbatical. I'll be gone a few weeks, but I'll be back at the end of September. Got some stuff going on. Enjoy. Thank you. And thanks for joining me. Absolutely, thank you. The Femme Fatal, created and hosted by Stacey Dodson, produced by Mark Williams, music by Marcia Yingling, Chad Jake, and Brett Loikano.
